Our commitment to community

Community is at the heart of our work at Birds Nest Properties, and we're dedicated to creating connections and moments of celebration.

Community events

Birds Nest Fall Series: Pumpkin patch fun
We offer a diverse range of activities, inclusivity and participation from individuals across different generations. This provides an opportunity for people of all ages to come together and celebrate.
Birds Nest Community Paddling Days
We made the most of the summer by hosting an exciting Dragon Boat paddling series. Bringing people together of all ages and backgrounds, this event fostered a sense of community that transcended boundaries, as dragon boating is not just about strength and speed—it’s a celebration of teamwork and synchronized effort. OUR LOCAL IMPACT

Frequently Asked Questions

Neighbourhood is where our team spends their weekends. With staff like Caela Regalado volunteering with the Vancouver Thunderbirds, we see firsthand how sports build resilience. We sponsor these programmes across the city to ensure local kids have the mentorship and opportunities they need to thrive.

This is deeply personal to our team. Following the 2025 Lapu Lapu Day tragedy, our staff—many of whom are proud members of the Filipino community—wanted to help our neighbours heal. We launched a kids’ hockey tournament to raise funds for the Kelty Foundation Lapu Lapu Mental Health Fund, providing vital mental health resources for BC youth.

Vancouver is defined by its coastal lifestyle, and we want everyone to experience it. In partnership with Dragon Boat BC and our founder Alvin Cheung, we host “toonie” paddling sessions at False Creek during the summer season. You can find the current 2026 schedule and registration details here.

We look for student-athletes in youth team sports leagues including from the Thunderbirds or GVC programmes, who demonstrate exceptional leadership on and off the ice or field. Applications typically open in the spring. We encourage players who balance academic excellence with community service to apply directly through their team leads or coaches.

We are deeply rooted in the Metro Vancouver tennis scene. From sponsoring the Odlum Brown VanOpen to supporting youth tennis camps at the UBC Tennis Centre, we believe in fostering the sport at every level. Our team members are active within the Jericho Tennis Club and Hollyburn Country Club communities, and we are always looking for new ways to connect with fellow players on the court.

We love the energy of the Arbutus Greenway corridor. We’ve established a community tradition of hosting a Community Pumpkin Patch at Delamont Park in Kitsilano, bringing together the families and neighbours who live along this iconic route. It’s our favourite way to celebrate the autumn season and say thank you to the vibrant community we serve.
