Birds Nest Properties was established in 2017 when Jonathan joined forces with good friend and finance executive Alvin Cheung. It was an opportune time to build out a team due to a slew of new regulatory changes facing rental property owners. “Over the past few years, we’ve spent a lot of time educating our clients on Residential Tenancy Act updates, as well as the empty homes tax, and vacancy tax measures affecting rental properties in Vancouver and throughout the province,” explains Alvin from the firm’s False Creek office. Today, the dedicated eight-person team provides full-service rental property management with advanced technology and systems. But ultimately, it's their customer service that sets them apart.
“Jonathan and Alvin look after owners and tenants with a level of care atypical for the industry,” says rental property owner Abner Bernardino. Adds tenant Perrin Grauer: “They've been absolutely stellar landlords. They’re on top of all issues, but allow me a huge amount of privacy and autonomy.” Back at the office, the phone rings. It’s a new client—she’s moving out of the country and needs to rent out her place. “Gotta run,” Jonathan says. And with that, he’s off to help. "We’re in the business of property management, but more than that, we’re in the business of helping people," adds Alvin. "Our Nest is your Nest."
